Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to take all necessary steps to complete 28 priority irrigation projects within the targeted time.

The Chief Minister held tele-conference on Neeru-Pragathi from New Delhi on Tuesday with officials of various departments.Chandrababu Naidu said the government aimed to prevent hardships for drinking and irrigation water in the State.

“All priority projects must be completed within the targeted time period. Officials should formulate plans to supply sufficient water to industries and cater to drinking water needs in future. Micro irrigation should be given priority to enable farmers to cultivate crops with using minimum water,” he said.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to take steps to distribute pensions on October 30 as November 1 and 2 are holidays.
“Beneficiaries under old age, disabled and widow pensions should not suffer due to the festival holidays,” he said.
The Chief Minister told the officials that funds allotted for material component under MNREG scheme should be spent completely.

“A sum of Rs 100 crore allotted to material component of MNREGS remained unspent and another Rs 337 crore has to be spent this year under the same scheme. Officials have to take steps to complete 1,22,713 farm ponds works as early as possible,” he said.
