Eluru/Chintalapudi: The state of affairs in Telugu Desam Party Chintalapudi constituency have heated up following the allegations by MLA Peethala Sujatha’s group on Tuesday at Chintalapudi and Jangareddigudem towns.

It may be recalled that the TDP has split into two groups in Chintalapudi constituency over the appointment of Chairman of Agriculture Marketing Committee. The Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu) Group and former minister and Chintalapudi MLA Peethala Sujatha’s group have made severe allegations on one another.

Following the dispute, the MP group led by Jaggavarapu Mutha Reddy and Koneru Subba Rao and other two ZPTC members and 17 MPTC members submitted their resignations to their posts and handed over to the ZP office senior assistant on Monday.

This action provoked MLA Sujatha’s group and they called on media conference at Chintalapudi and Jangareddigudem on Tuesday.

The Peethala Sujatha’s group alleged that after winning as MLA in Chintalapudi assembly constituency reserved for SC, one community leader had targeted her. Sujatha group leaders alleged. TDP Jangareddigudem president Sheikh Mustafa said that those resignations are only dramas by the Eluru MP group. He stated that all the AMC chairman posts in the state are filled up with the consent and proposals of the local MLA only. However, in Chintalapudi, the Eluru MP has intervened in the selection of AMC chairman candidate, he alleged.

He alleged that the MP and his caste people are trying to obstruct the rights and freedom of a woman MLA. He stated that the MP group is trying to shadow the original strong cadre and leaders and did not allow them to the posts. He stated that all sections of people are there in the party and it is not related to a single community, he added.
