Forum plea to Chief Minister on pending projects
Forum for Development of North Andhra demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu complete the water projects in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts of north coastal Andhra which were pending since 1978.
Visakhapatnam: Forum for Development of North Andhra demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu complete the water projects in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts of north coastal Andhra which were pending since 1978.
Forum general secretary A Ajasarma said that the Neradi Project on the Vamsadhara River in Srikakulam was announced in year 1978. Due to Odisha government objections, the project could not take off. A storage reservoir having a capacity of 19.05 tmc feet in Hiramandalam is also pending.
The projects of Janjhavathi in Komarada mandal in Vizianagaram district, Uttarandra Srujala Sravanthi which was aimed at bringing Godavari water to north coastal Andhra districts for which foundation stone was laid in 2009, was pending. The forum members demanded special package for north coastal Andhra development, Sarma said.
“We wrote a letter to the Chief Minister on Tuesday and after going through his response, we will plan for agitations in different modes” Sarma added.
