Driver dies as truck hits stationary vehicle

Nellore: A speeding coal-laden truck from Krishnapatnam Port which was moving towards Tadipatri in Anantapur district hit a stationary truck from rear side on Wednesday at Golagamudi on the national highway in which driver of the vehicle died on the spot.

The stationary vehicle caught on fire as it was an oil tanker and the flames burnt body of the driver partially. The stationary vehicle was moving towards Gudur and it was halted on the highway due to some repairs and the truck from the Port hit it. The driver confined to the cabin and also caught in fire.

The rescue teams from the Fire and Police departments took pain to bring him out of the cabin and douse flames. The police registered a case and took up investigation.
