Hyderabad: The southwest monsoon has been active over Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday. Thunderstorm with heavy rain occurred at isolated places in all coastal and Rayalaseema districts during the day.

The forecast said while heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in all coastal and Rayalaseema districts on September 28, the heavy showers will be confined to coastal Andhra the next day. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.

According to the Met department bulletin, heavy rainfall occurred at many places in Andhra Pradesh, with Narsapuram in West Godavari district recording eight cm of rainfall. The bulletin listed the chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State as: Venkatagiri Kota (Chittoor) 6, Simhadripuram (Kadapa), Santhipuram (Chittoor), Palakonda (Srikakulam), Gantyada

(Vizianagaram) 5 each, Vizianagaram, Dowleswaram (East Godavari), Manthralayam (Kurnool), Singanamala (Anantapur) 4 each, Puttur (Chittoor), Agali (Anantapur), Royachoti (Kadapa), Palasamudram (Chittoor), Amalapuram (East Godavari), Pathapatnam (Srikakulam), Chintapalle ( Vishakha patnam) and Yerragondapalem (Prakasam) 3 each.

There was two cm of rain each in Ranastalam, Seetharamapuram, Srungavarapukota, Udayagiri, Palasa, Paderu, Mentada, Denkada, Velairpad, Chintapalle, Vepada, Bhimadole, Pulivendula, Yemmiganur, Jammalamadugu, Alur and Penagaluru.
