Rupees 5.1 lakh worth gutka sachets seized; four arrested
Nellore-II Town police arrested four traders and seized 15,000 gutka sachets worth Rs 5.1 lakh from them. They also seized an auto-rickshaw, three motorcycles and three mobile phones from the accused.

The accused were identified as K Venkateswar Raja, B Venkata Krishna, J Leela Mohan and C Bhaskar Rao, According to OSD P.Vitaleswar, II-Town police conducted raids at Nawabpet near Pullamma Satram Market Yard and interrogated some persons in the area, who were selling gutka and seized gutka sachets. ‘Two of the accused fled away when police had tried to nab them. Special teams have been formed to apprehend them. “Some persons have been preparing gutka on Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu borders near Chennai.
We have kept a vigil on them,” said OSD. Gutka traders and other vendors tried to attack police during raids, OSD added. He also informed that they would file bind-over cases against the accused, who involved in selling gutka products.
He also appealed to the people to inform to the police through Whatsapp number ‘9390777727’ about illegal trade of gutka. City In-charge DSP M Bala Sundaram, II Town Circle Inspector N Venkat Rao and others were present.
