During his recent visit to Chittoor, Health Minister K Srinivas had directed the Apollo authorities to fulfil the terms and conditions of the agreement. Speaking to The Hans India here on Thursday, Jayachandra Reddy, who had worked here as Superintendent of Chittoor Government Hospital for five years, stated that the APVVP has informed the Apollo management to bear the maintenance costs of the GGH besides remitting the wages of sanitation workers.

“The Medical Council of India (MCI) had sanctioned 300 medical seats to Apollo Medical College after attaching GGH to Apollo Group of Hospitals. Out of 300 medical seats, the Apollo Medical College would allocate 50 per cent of the seats under management quota,” he added.

He exuded confidence that the Apollo management would construct new complexes in GGH and ensure all super-speciality services for all the patients at free of cost. The Joint Commissioner has also clarified that there was no question of shifting GGH to Madanapalle. To a question, he said the government was contemplating to fill up the doctor posts in GGH on contract basis.
