Vijayawada: Adventure tourism is fast catching up in the capital region of the successor state. Keeping in mind the surging demand for recreation and entertainment facilities, a private venture named Speed Way 7 came up at Chodavaram in Guntur district, first of its kind in the state.
It was a fun all along the inaugural event as the participants who included Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Prof V Jayarami Reddy, enjoyed virtual gaming which is one of the sources of entertainment in the theme park. The youth and students from Vijayawada, Guntur and the other surrounding areas are literally craving to try their hand at adventure tourism. The area, left with only movies, is starved of adventure and entertainment facilities.
A non-resident Indian promoted this entertainment park coupled with adventure tourism. The venture that came up on a sprawling 7-acres also offers cottages for the visitors. The theme park is located just 10 km away from Guntur city.
The Adventure Tourism & Entertainment Park showcases an array of entertainment outlets such as ‘adventure zone’ consisting of ‘go karting, all terrain tracks, batting cages, water slides, skating pin and climbing structure. The ‘entertainment zone’ consisting of virtual reality arcade, redemption games, ball pits, kiddies rides and gaming arcade.
The ‘resort zone’ consisting of food court, restaurant, banquet hall and accommodations.K Lakshminarayana, chief consultant and director of AP Projects Facilitator and director of Adventure and Entertainment Park, said, "The management will invest Rs 5-crore and develop the second phase of the park in the next phase. “Our aim is to provide recreation to the families residing near the state capital," he added.
Meanwhile, the APTDC is promoting rock climbing and rappelling in Kondapalli hill ranges. Besides, the state government is planning to host “Formula-1 Power Boating World Championship’ in the Krishna river in 2018. The 10-day event is expected to go with fashion show and food festival.
