According to sources, the Armed Reserve Constable (No 745 of 1993 batch) hailed from Abbavaram village of Valluru mandal in the district. He is survived by wife and two daughters. He was deployed for escorting the marketing minister for the last few months.

In this connection, he performed duty for the minister on Wednesday night on the occasion of World Tourism Day and was relieved on Thursday morning.

He came to his house around 8 am. Later, around 10.30 am, he was servicing the gun sitting on the chair, reportedly placing the front portion of the weapon between two legs just about an inch to his stomach . Suddenly, it went off with a big noise as the trigger of the gun accidentally went off. A bullet zipped into his stomach and came out from the back portion of his body.

Members of the family who were in the next room rushed in to the hall found Chandra Sekhar Reddy in a pool of blood. Immediately he was shifted to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) where he was declared brought dead. A pall of gloom descended in the house following the tragic incident. Meanwhile, district superintendent police Babujee Attada visited the RIMS and condoled his family members. He assured to extend all possible help from the department’s side.
