Kakinada: SC Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhakar Rao on Friday said Rs 308 crore loan would be sanctioned to 14,394 Schedule Caste beneficiaries in 2017-18 fiscal year.

Addressing media at SC Corporation office, Jupudi said East Godavari has more SCs After Prakasam district.He said an action plan was designed to disburse Rs 308 crore loan to 10,754 beneficiaries through banks and for the remaining 3,640 beneficiaries through a non-banking system in the district.

He said the government allocated Rs 2,713 crore budget in 2017-18 for the beneficiaries in 13 districts. He stated the government would encourage Dalit entrepreneurs by sanctioning loans through banks. He expressed discontent over some beneficiaries for not establishing units even after using sanctioned loans.

He asked them to utilise the benefits and stand role model to others. Jupudi also said that a 125-foot tall Ambedkar statue would be erected at Amaravati on the eve of 125th anniversary of Ambedkar with a cost of Rs 100 crore.

He also informed 125 vehicles worth Rs 20 lakh each were distributed to all SC beneficiaries and added they have sanctioned Scorpio vehicles last year and disburse JCBs this year. He said they would give proclainers in the coming year.

The SC chief said they would take measures to sanction boats to poor SC beneficiaries to promote tourism and asserted they won’t encourage the practice of Benami in getting loans.

He said the Corporation would purchase an acre of land and give it to poor SC farmers for cultivation.He instructed the officials to complete selection procedure of beneficiaries by December and sanction them by March-end. SC Corporation ED David Raju was present.
