Venkatapuram braces up for Ravi son’s grand wedding fete
This tiny village in Penugonda mandal will be the cynosure of all eyes on October 1, as high profile VIPs and political dignitaries of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be descending on the village which has already been decked up for the grand marriage celebration of Paritala Sriram, son of minister Paritala Sunitha and late Paritala Ravindra, once dreaded by all in the district.
Venkatapuram (Anantapur): This tiny village in Penugonda mandal will be the cynosure of all eyes on October 1, as high profile VIPs and political dignitaries of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be descending on the village which has already been decked up for the grand marriage celebration of Paritala Sriram, son of minister Paritala Sunitha and late Paritala Ravindra, once dreaded by all in the district.
The VVIPs include Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu apart from ministers, chairpersons of different corporations including AP Women's Commission chief Nannapaneni Rajakumari and dozens of MLAs and MLCs and political functionaries from all over the state.

- Many ministers and leaders of ruling party leaders are overseeing the arrangements in the village for the Oct 1 ceremony
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has special affinity with the district as he was once the district in-charge minister during the 1990s. He knew personally all the leaders in the district, especially the Paritala family. He held several meetings in the Penukonda constituency when Paritala Ravindra was the MLA. Ravindra also served as home minister in the NT Rama Rao’s cabinet and both Ravindra and KCR were colleagues in the NTR government.
KCR served as district in-charge minister of Anantapur as transport minister in N Chandrababu Naidu government. KCR was known as a very skilful orator and spoke in depth on any subject while addressing people in several constituencies in the district. He also had a special affinity with the media and even addressed problems relating to issues of concessional RTC passes for journalists during his tenure as transport minister.
KCR is visiting the district after a span of 20 years and that too in the status of the chief minister of Telangana state.
Meanwhile, the tiny village of Venkatapuram is witnessing a hectic security activity, visits by dozens of MLAs and a few cabinet ministers, including higher education minister Ganta Sreenivasa Rao and Tenali MLA K Raja. District minister Kaluva Sreenivasulu and other MLAs, including B K Parthasaradhi and Palle Raghunath Reddy visited the village on Friday. A festive atmosphere prevailed in the village as Dasara festival is preceding the big event.

Several film stars, including M Mohan Babu and Vivek Oberai, who acted as Paritala Ravi in Ramgopal Varma’s Raktha Charithra film and a host of other film personalities are expected to attend the event. On October 1, all roads would lead to Venkatapuram village, which was also known as the revolutionary village of yester years.
