Cardiovascular diseases can be prevented if one can take the necessary precautions, said Home Minister N Chinna Rajappa. On the eve of World Heart Day, he launched a special medical camp for journalists at Trust Hospital here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion Rajappa said that heart is a prime and a muscular organ. He also said that food habits play a vital role in maintaining a healthy heart. Medical tests are needed as the age increases.

He asserted that exercises are needed to control heart diseases and one should try to reduce mental stress that leads to heart diseases. He appreciated the Trust Hospital Management for conducting a medical camp for journalists.

He also said that competition in journalistic career and stress while collecting the news will make the journalists unhealthy. He also advised the journalists to go for regular heart check-ups. Rajappa further told that their Government is giving utter importance to civic health in the state.

Trust Hospital Chairman Ch PS Ramakrishna, Doctors U Ramakrishna, P Nishant, Durga Pavan Kumar, Managing Director Kalyana Charkravarthi and DPRO M Francis also participated in the programme.
