In the morning, the priests offered ‘chakrarchana’, and ‘navavaranarchana’, ‘mahanyasapurvaka ekadasa rudrabisekam’, ‘rudrahomam’, ‘rudrayaganga japam’, ‘parayanam’, ‘navagraha mandaradhana’, ‘navagraha japanushtanam’, ’panchakshari’, ‘bramari’, ‘bala anushtanam’, ‘chandi parayana’, ‘chaturveda parayana’, ‘surya namasakar’, ‘kumara pooja’, ‘madhyana kalarchana’, and ‘sahasranamarchana’

to the presiding deity. In the evening, they conducted ‘japam’, ‘anushtanam’, ‘navavaranarchana’, ‘kunkumarchana’, ‘Chandi homam’, ‘rudra homam’, ’Suvasini pooja’ and ‘Kalaratri pooja’ to the Goddess, informed EO Narayana Bharath Gupta. As part of the Vahana Seva programme, the deities were offered Aswavahana Seva, after specially decorating them. They were offered poojas in the Akkamahadevi Alankara
Mandapam.

In the evening, Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy presented ‘pattu vastram’ to the deity on behalf of the State government to mark the Bramotsavams and Dasara festival. He entered the temple and offered special pooja. Later, the Deputy Chief Minister released the 2018 calendar brought out by the Devasthanam in the Ashirvachana Mandapam.

Priced at Rs 90, the calendar has 12 sheets with portraits of Gods Ratnaganapathi, Mallikarjuna, Vrudda Mallikarjuna, Hatakeswara, Rajarajeswara and Goddesses Bhramaramba, Rajarajeswari, Umamaheswari, Kowmaridevi, besides Nataraja and Sanagala Basavanna. The photographs of the deities have been taken by well-known lensman V Sridhar Raju and Prasis Studio.
