The Vizag MP laid the foundation stones for the construction of Smart Parks at the RK Beach Road opposite YMCA and another one at Chinna Waltair Colony in the city on Friday.

  • The estimated cost of this park is pegged at Rs 3.54 crore
  • Another park will be developed at Chinna Waltair at a cost of Rs 99 lakh

The estimated cost of this Smart City Park has been pegged at Rs 3.54 crore. The park will have climbing net, playing equipment for children, ship deck, musical polls, playground drums and merry ground. Besides, the authorities will be taking special efforts to come with better lighting and landscaping in the facility, according to sources.

The Chinna Waltair Smart Park's construction cost was estimated at Rs 99 lakh. Haribabu asked the authorities to complete the works as per schedule without causing any delay. He also requested the locals to cooperate with the administration as the facility would be closed while the works are underway.

Speaking on the occasion, East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu said the public could spend pleasant evenings in these parks and emphasised on the need for Smart City Parks. GVMC Commissioner M Harinarayanan explained about the parks construction and the facilities.

Zonal Commissioner P Nallanayya, superintending engineer Venkateswar Rao, Smart City PMU Program Director Prabhu Silavanta, Kirlampudi Residents Welfare Association president Uday Shirmani, executive engineer Sudhakar, assistant engineer Anand, ACP Naidu, AMOH Lakshmi Tulasi and others attended.
