Gowthami Regional Library to be digitised
As many as 25,000 books in the reference section of Gowthami Regional Library (GRL) will be digitalised from the Vijaya Dasami festival.
As many as 25,000 books in the reference section of Gowthami Regional Library (GRL) will be digitalised from the Vijaya Dasami festival. According to GRL librarian R Venkat Rao, out of 1.10 lakh books in the library there are 25,000 important books available in the reference section. Some palm-leaf manuscripts also are to be digitalised.
It will take six to 10 months to complete the digitalisation process. Hyderabad based Nisarga company took up the digitalisation task. Urban MLA Dr A Satyanarayana will inaugurate the digitalization work on Saturday.
The company imparted training to some persons in digitalisation system. Two scanners were provided in this regard. As many valuable books are in a damaged condition, the MLA came forward to digitalise the books and store them for future generations.
