The native village of the Paritala family witnessed a galaxy of dignitaries, including Chief Ministers of two Telugu states, ministers and film personalities on the occasion of the marriage of Paritala Sriram, son of late Paritala Ravindra and minister Sunitha on Sunday. This is the first happy occasion in the family after the violent assassination of Ravindra in 2005.
Venkatapuram (Anantapur): The native village of the Paritala family witnessed a galaxy of dignitaries, including Chief Ministers of two Telugu states, ministers and film personalities on the occasion of the marriage of Paritala Sriram, son of late Paritala Ravindra and minister Sunitha on Sunday. This is the first happy occasion in the family after the violent assassination of Ravindra in 2005.
Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrashekar Rao were the star attraction at the wedding. Their participation in the wedding ceremony of Paritala Sriram electrified the thousands who were present at the wedding ceremony.
The two Chief Ministers arrived at the venue of the wedding ceremony only after Paritala Sriram tied the nuptial knot as per the Muhurtham at 12.18 pm. The AP Chief Minister arrived five minutes after the nuptial knot tying ceremony and spent hardly 15 minutes at the wedding ceremony. He congratulated the Sriram couple who touched his feet and sought his blessings. He immediately left for Puttaparthi by helicopter.
As soon as the Chief Minister arrived, he was given a rousing reception by women’s welfare minister and mother of the bridegroom Paritala Sunitha and her family members and party leaders. Hindupuram MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna also came along with the Chief Minister. Balakrishna greeted the couple and blessed them and later waved to the crowds.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao arrived 45 minutes after Naidu left the village. Local people greeted KCR by whistling and shouting. He waved to the crowds and acknowledged the greetings of people. KCR was received by Paritala Sunitha with warmth and affection. The Telangana Chief Minister paid homage to late Paritala Ravindra, his one-time friend, at the Paritala Ghat.
At around 12.18 pm amidst chanting of vedic hymns, Sriram tied the knot. Hundreds of friends and admirers and political functionaries greeted the new couple. The two Chief Ministers arrived by separate helicopters and did not meet each other as KCR arrived 45 minutes after Naidu.
Prominent among those who attended the event include film stars Mohan Babu, Manchu Lakshmi, Tarak Ratna and Venu Madhav. Telangana ministers Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Errabilli Dayakar Rao also accompanied KCR.About 30 RTC buses were hired to bring people from Paritala Sunitha’s Raptadu constituency.
The village of Venkatapuram was virtually under police control for the last three days when the marriage-related ceremonies started in the village with scores of cabinet ministers and MLAs from coastal districts making a beeline to the Paritala fortress.
