District collector B Lakshmikantham has appealed to the youth to joyfully participate in the Happy Sunday programme to exhibit their talent and make it a grand success. The collector was the chief guest for the Happy Sunday programme conducted by VMC near IGMC stadium on M G Road.

He said the VMC is conducting the Happy Sunday to encourage youngsters to exhibit their talent in various cultural programmes. He said Happy Sunday is also conducted in nine municipalities and village panchayats of the district.

Youngsters enthusiastically participated playing volley ball, badminton, skating and other sports events. Young artistes attracted the viewers with outstanding singing and dancing skills. A Yoga programme was also conducted on the occasion. Roots Health Foundation conducted screening test programme to create awareness on cancer.

At Rajamahendravaram

Hundreds of people were a part of the Happy Sunday programmes conducted at Pushkar Ghat, even after the weather being bad. Many students impressed the audience with Durga Devi performances in connection with Vijaya Dasami. Some students gave performances to bring awarness among the people on Swachhata Seva for clealiness and national integrity. Along with these programmes, some folk dances were also performed, which left the audience enthralled. Meanwhile, students of various schools also participated in the programme.
