Adoni: Adoni One-Town Police busted a kidnap case within four days after the registering the case. According to available sources, four-year- old Raju a resident of D Belagal village in Yemmiganoor mandal had accompanied his grandfather Lakshmanna to Adoni Agriculture Market Yard on 25th of September.
While Lakshmanna was busy with the auction of his cotton produce brought to the market, Raju was kidnapped by an unknown person. Just after the auction, Lakshmanna tried to find his grandson to return his native but in vain. He searched near the surrounding areas and enquired with fellow farmers about his grandson. Of not finding his whereabouts, he immediately went to the One-town police station and lodged a missing complaint. The police who first registered a missing complaint later changed it to a kidnap case on September 25.
The Investigating Officer, Sub-Inspector of Police J Manmad Vijay after registering the case, took up investigation. He inspected the Closed-Circuit Camera (CC camera) footage fixed at the Agriculture Market Yard. He found in the footage that Raju was being accompanied by an unknown person. The Sub-Inspector enquired about the unknown person and came to know that he was a kidnapper, Harijana Mastan a resident of Malligeli village near Guntakal in Anantapur district.
A man hunt was launched to apprehend the kidnapper. Constables Veeranjaneyulu and Dada Basha laid a trap and caught the kidnapper and after interrogation, the kidnapper revealed that the child was sent to his relative’s house at Mumbai. A team was sent to Mumbai and brought back the kidnapped safely.
The Sub-Inspector, speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday said that it was a great breakthrough that the kidnap case has been solved within four days. The boy was handed over to his parents. However, they had taken Harijana Mastan into custody and a case has been filed on him and on his relatives for keeping the boy with them, he added.
