Huge quantity of ganja seized
Police arrested three persons on Saturday for transportation of ganja. According to police, the accused were from Guntur, Nellore, Krishna and Visakhapatnam districts and they were identified as Avutha Siva Sankar Reddy from Vallabhapuram in Guntur, Turaka Durga Rao from Nellore
Vizianagaram: Police arrested three persons on Saturday for transportation of ganja. According to police, the accused were from Guntur, Nellore, Krishna and Visakhapatnam districts and they were identified as Avutha Siva Sankar Reddy from Vallabhapuram in Guntur, Turaka Durga Rao from Nellore, K Chinna Rao from GK Veedhi mandal in Visakhapatnam who were taken into custody and other two persons I Sankara Rao from Vijayawada and Myneni Sitharamaiah from Penamaluru in Guntur district.
Police recovered 200 packets here from Siva Sankar Reddy and Durga Rao. In all, 200 packets of each 2 kg of ganja from Chinna Rao when they conducted raids. According to DSP AV Ramana, Chinna Rao completed B Sc and B Ed and has been purchasing ganja at a lower cost and selling to others at a higher price.
He had contacts with driver Sankar Reddy and cleaner Durga Rao for shifting the material to Maharashtra. They handdd over the contraband to Lyla Sankar of Sangli in Maharashtra. Police launched a man-hunt for other two accused.
