Vijayawada: The Krishna District Police Department conducted vehicles inspection across the district on Thursday as part of road safety plans. The police booked 35 vehicles by imposing penalty of Rs 7,900 for overloading and over speeding. Similarly, the police also collected fines from six vehicle users for not having proper documents. Besides, 102 vehicles users were imposed a fine of Rs 11,300 for not wearing helmets.

As many as 43 persons were caught for drunken driving and they were produced before the court. Krishna District superintendent of Police S Tripati monitored the vehicle inspections and several higher officials were also present.
