Fake bio-products worth `46 lakh seized

On a tip off, Assistant Director of Agriculture (ADA) M Kannaiah along with his staff conducted raids on a godown at Gowda Hostel Centre and seized the bio-products in the city on Friday.

Speaking to the media, the ADA said Srinivas has taken licence on the name Saral Crop Science with No 33/2013-2014 for trading pesticides.

He informed media that Srinivas, who got licence has been stocking unauthorised bio-products in the godown at Balaji Nagar. “Srinivas has been marketing these unauthorised bio-products in Kavali, Podalakur, Atmakur, Gudur and also in Nellore city with the help of dealers. Agni, Antibact, Benten, Bloom, Champion, Fighter, Icon, Nakshatra, Supreme and other bio-products have been seized in the raids,’ said the ADA. He stated that they would file a case against the dealers, who have been selling these products to the farmers without permission from the government.

He also appealed to the farmers not to purchase these bio-products which were not useful for farming activity and also warned that they would take stern action against the persons who sell such kind of bio-products to the farmers across the district.
