Heavy rains forecast

Visakhapatnam: Heavy rains may occur in the coastal Andhra region for the next two days. With the heavy rains lashing the neighbouring Odisha, there is a flood threat to Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts in the next 24 hours.

An upper air cyclonic circulation has been prevailing in Bay of Bengal and entire Odisha coastal area, according to a weather bulletin. Meanwhile, another upper air circulation is presently prevailing in Telangana state and parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh. Weather scientists said the south west monsoon was more active in the coastal Andhra region.
