Visakhapatnam: Andhra University is gearing up for ‘Grand Alumni Meet’ in the city on December 9. It is likely the Old Students’ Reunion will see the presence of Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, who pursued his bachelor’s degree in law from Andhra University College of Law. Also, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, several Ministers, IAS and IPS officers would take part in the event.

Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G Nageshwar Rao held a video conference with the Andhra Univeristy Old Students’ Association Chairman Grandhi Mallikarjun Rao at the campus here on Friday. He discussed about the preparations for the event.

According to sources, the old students, who settled abroad and across the country, will attend the reunion.

On December 9, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, the Chief Minister will participate in Andhra University Old Students’ Walkathon at the Beach Road in the city at 6 am.

Besides, several programmes have been scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm on the day.

“Every Monday, discussions on the event planning will be held through tele-conference,” said the Vice-Chancellor.

Andhra University Registrar V Umameaheshwar Rao, AUAA secretary B Mohan Venkat Ram, joint secretary Kumar Raja, Prof Vijay Prakash and others attended.
