11 bookies arrested

Guntur : The urban police arrested 11 cricket bookies in Vasantharayapuram here on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off, Arundalpeta police inspector Y Srinivasarao and Sub-inspectors Ch Kishore, T Tirupati Rao and QR team SI Nagul Meera and other police personnel raided a house and confiscated three boxes with 33 mobile phones, two laptops, 12 cell phones and Rs 1,08,200 cash with the accused. Speaking to media urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao said the prime accused Bandaru Durga Anjaneya Prasad and his close aide Neeluri Viswanath were financiers and lost everything in the business and resorted to cricket betting to earn the lost money easily.
