Interacting with the media at Indira Bhavan here on Sunday, Krishnaiah criticised the BJP government at the Centre for imposing slabs of 28 per cent and 18 per cent under the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST). He said small and medium traders have been facing severe troubles with the GST.

Stating that the GDP had come down to 5.7 per cent within 3 years, he said that the exports and imports have decreased during the NDA regime. Small and medium traders have been suffering losses due to implementation of GST, he added.

Stating that GDP during 2011 was 10.3 per cent under the UPA regime and it had again decreased to 7.6 per cent under NDA stint, he said and added the GDP in 2016-17 under UPA regime is 6.6 per cent.

The DCC chief said agriculture growth had also decreased in NDA regime compared to that of UPA stint. Growth of agriculture sector is also at 5.4 per cent in UPA regime during 2004-2009 and it had further decreased to 4.7 per cent in NDA regime during 2014-2017, he added.

He also said that exports had also decreased to 4.7 per cent in NDA regime as it was 24 per cent in UPA regime during 2004-2009. The DCC president demanded the Central government release a white paper on financial status of the country.

The Centre had failed to bring back black money stashed away from other countries, he added. Congress leaders Chevuri Deva Kumar, Chenchala Babu Yadav and G Sivachary were present.
