Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao here on Sunday said that the Indian space scientists were playing a vital role in developing space technology and creating world records during the past one-and-a-half decades. One of the noted colleges in the city Dr.Lankapalli Bullayya College, in collaboration with ISRO, has organised the World Space Week celebrations on its premises. 

Visakhapatnam: Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao here on Sunday said that the Indian space scientists were playing a vital role in developing space technology and creating world records during the past one-and-a-half decades. One of the noted colleges in the city Dr.Lankapalli Bullayya College, in collaboration with ISRO, has organised the World Space Week celebrations on its premises.

In his inaugural address, the HRD Minister said that the entire world was witnessing the Indian Space Research Organisation activities. Space scientists across the world are also expressing their willingness collaborate with it, he added.

ISRO scientist and chairman, Sub-Committee of World Space Week G Suryanarayana said that the world’s best rockets and space technology were now available in India. The Government of India has been encouraging new inventions by providing necessary funds to the ISRO, he added.
As a part of the celebrations, the organisers screened video clippings of various development activities of ISRO.

More than 400 high school students and 300 primary school students participated in various competitions including quiz and drawing on the occasion. A total of 40 models were displayed in the science expo. Thousands of people witnessed the ISRO activities displayed at the expo. Secretary and Correspondent of LB College G Madhu Kumar and Academic Director of the college A Prasad Rao also spoke.
