Kurnool: To maintain transparency in land records, the State government has brought several reforms in the Revenue department. The state government has introduced “Web Land Portal under “Mee Intiki Mee Bhoomi” programme through which a farmer can check his land details just by operating the system from wherever he would be staying.

  • A farmer Sudhakar says that he is losing several benefits that are being extended by the state government
  • The farmer says that he was paid less amount for crop damage due to non-updation of his land in pattadar pass book
  • Says it is very hard to get crop loans from banks

Despite government’s efforts to bring down the irregularities, several such cases are still reporting at mandal levels. The farmers, Gadwal Sudhakar and his two brothers, G Rama Krishna and G Maddilety of Budidapadu village in Gudur mandal are having an extent of 8 acres land in survey nos 162 and 163.

G Sudhakar and G Rama Krishna share an equal extent of 2.67 acres each while G Maddilety owns and extent of 2.66 acres in the said survey numbers. Apart from this, the three brothers also have an equal extent of 30 cents each measuring to 90 cents in survey number 217.

When Sudhakar approached the Tahsildar’s office to get his land enter online, he was astonished to hear that an extent of 1.20 acres was deducted from his share and 80 cents each from his brother’s land.

And the total land was included in some other’s land that doesn’t possess land in the said survey numbers. When the same was brought to the notice of Tahsildar, he denied hearing and postponing the issue for the last six months, said Sudhakar. Though Sudhakar took the issue to the notice of Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) D Hussain Peera and he directed Gudur Mandal Tahsildar Shankar Naik to immediately rectify the mistake, but in vain.

Sudhakar alleged that the Village Revenue Officer (VRO) Nagaraj has taken Rs 3,000 for correcting the discrepancy and entering them online, the same has also not done yet, he wooed. Sudhakar said that he has even got his land surveyed with Gudur mandal surveyor. Despite having relevant land records and pattadar pass books, his land is not being entered online and those bribing big amount are getting their lands entered online.

He said that a person named Gurudas, who is not a native or resident of Budidapadu village, was given an extent of 50 cents land and immediately entered online without registering documents and pattadar pass books by the Tahsildar. It is just because, Gurudas is the son-in-law of a village Thalari. Later the same was cancelled when agitations rose against the Tahsildar, VRO and Thalari, said Sudhakar.

He said, “I am losing several benefits that are being extended by the state government. Recently, I had been paid less amount for crop damage. Not only this, it is very hard to get crop loans from the banks. Without online entry, the bank officials are not willing to extend crop loans and borrowing from outside is an uphill task to repay when the crops doesn’t reap remunerative prices at the market, he wooed. He pleaded Joint Collector to intervene into the issue and take appropriate action on the corrupted officials harassing the farmers.
