- Police meet the Kapu leader at his house on Saturday night itself and tell him he is under house arrest and is not permitted to take part in the programme
Rajamahendravaram: East Godavari police once again foiled the proposed 'Aatmeeya Samavesm’ of Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham scheduled to be held on Sunday and Monday. The programme is aimed at meet members of Kapu community who extended support to the agitation of Padmanabham in Gannavaram and Razole.
Police went to Mudragada Padmanabham’s home on Saturday night and informed him that he was under house arrest and no permission was given to his Aatmeeya Samavesam. Earlier, Mudragada’s repeated attempts to conduct a padayatra to Amaravati were thwarted by the government on the ground that no permission was sought by him.
The house arrest of Mudragada Padmanabham again caused an uproar among some Kapu leaders in East Godavari district, who accusing the government of curtailing their freedom of expression.
