Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy appealed to people and Endowments department to protect assets donated by the philanthropists.

Inaugurating the satellite branch of AP Brahmins Corporation Credit Society at Rebalavari Street in the city on Sunday, the Minister said that many philanthropists had donated their assets for the sake of community development.

“Assets donated by them were being misused. Funds generated from these assets have been diverted,” lamented the Minister. He also said they are striving hard to safeguard the lands in Krishnapatnam and added the government had sent 10 students from Brahmin community to abroad who were below poverty line.

He assured that the government always support the Brahmins community. Brahmins Welfare Corporation Chairman Vemuri Ananda Surya, MLC Beeda Ravichandra, Chairman of the District Central Library K Venkataswamy Naidu, NUDA Chairman K Srinivasulu Reddy and Assistant Commissioner of Endowments Ravindra Reddy were present.
