Srikakulam: Future of students, who are studying in government schools in the villages displaced by Vamshadhara Reservoir Project is uncertain as villages are being vacated by the officials and alternative arrangements for their studies have not been made. The rehabilitation colonies are not ready for occupation but the officials have already started the evacuation process from Friday onwards.
In Hiramandal mandalam, a total of 13 villages would be affected, including the mandal headquarters. The Hiramandal, Peddasankili, Solipi, Gadabapeta, Bhimavaram, Chinnasankili, Barripeta, Tulagam, Duggupuram, Padali, Garlapadu, Korada and Chinnakollivalasa would be displaced in a phased manner.

In all, the 13 affected villages, one high school at Tulagam village, three upper primary schools in Padali, Duggupuram and Peddasankili and 10 primary schools in other villages are functioning.
