Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday arrested Engineer-in-Chief of Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department Pamu Panduranga Rao for possessing properties disproportionate to his income and produced him in the ACB court.Â
Vijayawada: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday arrested Engineer-in-Chief of Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department Pamu Panduranga Rao for possessing properties disproportionate to his income and produced him in the ACB court.
The officials also arrested Panduranga Rao’s benami, his brother-in-law N Rajeswara Rao, a private doctor practicing at Jangareddygudem, West Godavari district for amassing ill-gotten money and helping the main accused to earn illegal money. In a press release on Monday, ACB Director General R P Thakur furnished the details of the two accused and properties amassed by the duo.
The ACB officials seized documents of properties valued at Rs 2.31 crore, which were purchased in different parts of AP and Telangana States.
The properties include three plots in Paradesipalem, Vizag valued at Rs 9.02 lakh, one plot in Yapral, Hyderabad valued at Rs 13 lakh, four plots in Patancheru near Hyderabad worth Rs 25.60 lakh, two plots in Jangareddygudem valued at Rs 6.85 lakh and one plot in Gunadala, Vijayawada, worth Rs 46.36 lakh.
The ACB officials have also found documents related to a flat valued at Rs 40.47 lakh in Labbipet, Vijayawada, one house in Bhagyalakshmi Nagar, Hyderabad, worth Rs 40 lakh, a building in Mylavaram village of Krishna district worth Rs 35 lakh and agriculture land of 23.43 acres in Gampalagudem mandal of Krishna district valued at Rs 14.68 lakh.
Rajeswara Rao has transferred some properties on the names of his family members and relatives. The press release said the officials are scrutinizing the other properties and wealth amassed by the Engineer-in Chief and his benami.
