Hyderabad: The Met department bulletin warned on Monday that thunderstorms associated with heavy rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in all Rayalaseema and coastal districts on October 10.

It said thunderstorms with heavy rain occurred at isolated places in all Rayalaseema districts, while storms lashed all coastal districts on Monday, as Sunday’s low pressure area intensified into a deep depression and moved away to West Bay and its adjoining area.

According to the bulletin, the upper air cyclonic circulation over Odisha and its neighbourhood extending up to 3.6 km above the mean sea level has become less marked as also the trough from cyclonic circulation across Telangana and south Chhattisgarh.

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, the southwest monsoon turned weak over coastal Andhra Pradesh and vigorous over Rayalaseema, which received rain at most places.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Rayalaseema with Palamaner (Chittoor district), Pulivendla and Rajampet, both in Kadapa, recording 13, 12 and 11 cm of rainfall respectively.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were: Owk (Kurnool), Singanamala (Anantapur) 9 each, Anantapur 8, Tadimarri, Tanakal, Nambulipulikunta (all in Anantapur), Allagadda (Kurnool), Atmakur, Kadiri (both in Anantapur), Sambepalle (Kadapa) 7 each, Tadpatri (Anantapur), Penagaluru (Kadapa), Bathalapalle (Anantapur), Gurramkonda (Chittoor) , Koilkuntla (Kurnool), Pamidi (Anantapur), Utukuru (Kadapa) 6 each, Peapally (Kurnool), Mandapalle, Thambalapalle (both in Chittoor), Ramagiri, Dharmavaram (both in Anantapur), Dornipadu (Kurnool), Atlur (Kadapa) 5 each.
