A photograph of police personnel folding his hands pleading a traffic offender on a motorcycle with his family of five is doing rounds across various social media platforms.

Taken in Anantapur district, the photo shows a policeman pleading the man who sits on the two-wheeler along with his three kids and his wife. All five are seen without helmets.

Posted by an IPS officer, Abhishek Goyal, the photo has been shared widely on Twitter on Tuesday.

Identified as B Shubh Kumar of Anantapur’s Madakasira Circle, the officer with folded hands had infact encountered the family during a one and a half hour programme on road safety just prior to the photo being taken.

The Indian Express quoted Kumar saying. “My mind went blank when I saw the five of them riding so dangerously and all I could do was fold my hands in total resignation, helplessness and frustration.”

He further explained to Indian Express, “I asked him to think of the safety of his family as he did not have minimum sense of responsibility towards them. As the two kids were sitting on the fuel tank, he had little room to manoeuvre because their legs were stuck to the handlebar. Accidents happen like that only."
