Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday flagged off thirty Solid Waste Management vehicles.

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday flagged off thirty Solid Waste Management vehicles.

The vehicles include waste collecting trucks, tree pruning machines, road sweeping and drain cleaning machines among others.

"These vehicles will serve in Vijayawada and Guntur Municipal Corporations. Similar machines will also be made available in Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati," Naidu said.

The CM also said the vehicles have been flagged off as part of government's initiative to maintain cleanliness.

"We set up Swach Andhra Corporation, there is no such body in any other state. In urban areas, we are using new machines to clean street lights and pruning trees. In rural Andhra Pradesh, we will complete building 22 lakh toilets in next six months," Naidu asserted.

Naidu also said his government would provide LED lights, metalled roads and drainages in order to keep environment clean.

"Our government has set up greenery and landscaping corporation for clean and transparent environment," he added.
