Vizianagaram: Director generals of four neighbouring states have decided to coordinate with each other to curb extremism and other anti-social activates to maintain peace. On Tuesday DGPs of four states met at a resort in Bhogapuram of in Vizianagaram district and discusses various issues.

  • Call us police , not Khaki, says AP DGP
  • Every police personis a social service activist, he says

N. Sambasiva Rao (AP), Anurag Sharma ( TS), Dr.Rajendra Prasad Sharma (Odisha), A.N. Upadhyay (Chhattisgarh) participated in the coordination meeting and shared information and decided to help each other while curbing the Maoists and Ganja smugglers.

They said that extremism is one of the reasons for backwardness in some areas of the four states and even ganja and other sedatives also being crossed the borders and spreading in the four districts. Only the coordinated efforts can give good results in these aspects. Combing should be intensified to minimise the Maoist- affected areas.

Later DGP of Andhra Pradesh N. Sambasiva Rao came to Vizianagaram and visited police training centre. The DGP said ‘We are here to participate in social service along with our regular duties. Andhra Pradesh is the first state to implement model policing system in entire nation. Every police person should participate in social service once in a week.

If the all 52,000 police involve in social service, we can change the entire society and attitude of the people. We are going to provide air conditioners to 100 police stations out of 868 stations in Andhra Pradesh. It’s my appeal to public to call as Police rather than Khakis.

Every police person is a social service activist. We should feel that society is our home and try to drive out every social evil and anti-social elements too. Andhra Police is availing technology to minimise the crime here.” He said. SP of Vizianagaram P. Palaraju, principal of PTC Rajasikhamani also accompanied with him during the PTCs visit.
