Tirupati: The residents of Sannidhi Veedhi of Srikalahasti town have requested District Collector PS Pradyumna to give more compensation to their lands being acquired as part of implementing the master plan for Srikalahasti Devasthanam.

They met the Collector in Tirupati on Tuesday and informed him that they were not against the master plan. The Collector told the residents of Sannidhi Veedhi that they should demand compensation reasonably.

He also assured to provide personal loans for those, who will be deprived of livelihood because of master plan implementation under the ‘Stand Up India’ scheme. Their requisition will be sent to the Chief Minister to take a decision in this regard. He said that 78 commercial constructions and 61 houses will come under master plan.

The number of shops in the existing complex will be increased by another 25 and will be allotted to them only. A marginal difference between what Sannidhi Veedhi residents are demanding and government is offering them as compensation.

Hence, they asked the Collector to settle it in the next meeting so that the people of Srikalahasti will not misunderstand them. Joint Collector Girisha, Sub Collector Nishanth Kumar, EO Bhramaramba and others were present.
