Anti-Corruption Bureau nabs 13 agents at RTA office

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have conducted raids on RTA office at Proddatur and took 13 agents into custody. They seized cash worth Rs 1 lakh from the agents on Wednesday. Following allegations levelled by the people against the RTA staff collecting bribes through the agents for issuing driving licenses and certificates, the ACB officials conducted raids.
Kadapa: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have conducted raids on RTA office at Proddatur and took 13 agents into custody. They seized cash worth Rs 1 lakh from the agents on Wednesday. Following allegations levelled by the people against the RTA staff collecting bribes through the agents for issuing driving licenses and certificates, the ACB officials conducted raids.
ACB DSP A Nagaraju said that the agents, who were staying outside office, are collecting money on behalf of the RTA staff for issuing licenses. He said a detail report has been sent to the State government over the issue and recommended action against the erring officials working in the RTA office.
