Delayed bridge over Papagni keeps 3 villages harried
Although located close to this town, villages of Alireddypalle, Thoopalle and Eguva Thoopalle get cut off from the rest of the State if there is rain. The villagers have to live in fear. To reach here they have to cross the Papagni river. If a bridge is built across it the to and fro transportation will become easy.

Construction of the bridge is getting delayed because of the indifference of both the people’s representatives and officials. The villagers, including students, have been facing severe hardship in reaching this mandal headquarters following heavy rain lashing the district during the last three days and the river overflowing.
The temporary bridge has been washed away in the flood fury. On Wednesday, Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy inspected the bridge site along with residents of Alireddypalle. He interacted with them on their problems. Later speaking to the media, he described as ‘unfortunate’ non-completion of the bridge for many years. He appealed to both the Central and the State governments to expeditiously complete the work.
