Devineni Uma opens Srisailam floodgates, releases water

Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy and officials of the Irrigation department on Thursday morning participated in pujas.
He operated the floodgates and released water from Srisailam Project into the Krishna River. Two gates were lifted by 10 feet allowing 56,000 cusecs of water flow towards Nagarjuna Sagar Project.
Due to the incessant rains, the reservoir is receiving heavy inflows in upper streams and the water level in Srisailam reservoir has reached to 885 feet.
