  • Asks the officials to propagate against child marriages

In a review meeting with the officials on child marriages, child adoption and child abuse at Court Hall in Collectorate here on Wednesday, Misra instructed the officials to identify orphaned children at public places and put them into education.

He suggested the officials to propagate against child marriages and conduct awareness meetings with the help of people’s representatives, village sarpanches and officials. He ordered the officials to conduct meetings with VROs, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers on the issue.

He also directed the officials to involve the participation of MLAs and Sarpanches in awareness meetings. The collector asked the officials to speed up the process of adoption of children in child homes. Misra also said that steps should be taken to prevent child abuse and any such cases against child victims should be resolved quickly.

Additional joint collector Radha Krishna Murthy, WCWD PD Sarada Devi, DCPO Venkata Rao and CWC members also participated in the review meeting.
