Insults to Kuchipudi dance form deplored
Secretary of Bhagavat Melam Kuchipudi Dr Thadepalli Satyanarayana Sharma warned that they would not tolerate any insult to Vempati Chinna Satyam’s Kuchipudi dance form. Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Sharma listed out the objectionable developments that were taking place against Kuchipudi dance form.
Visakhapatnam: Secretary of Bhagavat Melam Kuchipudi Dr Thadepalli Satyanarayana Sharma warned that they would not tolerate any insult to Vempati Chinna Satyam’s Kuchipudi dance form. Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Sharma listed out the objectionable developments that were taking place against Kuchipudi dance form.
He expressed his dismay over corrupting the items composed by the dedicated Padmabhushan Vempati Chinna Satyam and said that the responsibility of passing on the great art form ‘Kuchipudi’ from one generation to another without any mistake has fallen on the institute ‘Bhagavat Melam Kuchipudi’.
He said that now-a-days, people were performing ballets in the name of ‘Vempati choreography’ but there was no resemblance or relevance to the composition at all. They are not able to teach and present the exact composition of Vempati Chinasatyam. It was leading to a degradation of Kuchipudi dance and an insult to the art form and their Guru. It has caused a lot of pain, Sharma lamented.
