Rayalaseema Range Inspector-General of Police Shaik Mohammed Iqbal has inaugurated Mobile Control Room (MCR) with highly sophisticated technology called ‘Netra’ here on Wednesday. This is the first of its kind vehicle launched in the state. 

Kadapa: Rayalaseema Range Inspector-General of Police Shaik Mohammed Iqbal has inaugurated Mobile Control Room (MCR) with highly sophisticated technology called ‘Netra’ here on Wednesday. This is the first of its kind vehicle launched in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, the IG said that the MCR is equipped with computers, wireless sets, camera video recording unit and other communication facilities. The MCR can record any incident within a radius of 500 metres from its existing location, he said and added that the recordings are legally valid in the court of law.

Later, Mohammed Iqbal has inaugurated a drinking water plant and a computer lab at Municipal Urdu School which he adopted in the city. The IG stated that he was providing facilities in the school as he wants to encourage students to pursue education in government schools.

He lamented that parents are not keen to join their children in government schools despite having qualified and experienced teaching staff due to lack of facilities. The IG stated that the Police department has decided to provide infrastructure in all government schools with the support of donors in a phased manner. District SP Attada Babujee, DSP Masum Basha and other police officials were present.
