2 more gates lifted at Srisailam dam

Following heavy inflow into Srisailam Reservoir, two more gates were lifted on Friday. It may be recalled that Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao switched on lifting the two crest gates of dam on Thursday.

It may be recalled that Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao switched on lifting the two crest gates of dam on Thursday. Presently, 83,400 cusecs of water are being released from the three gates through spillway lifting the gates up to 10 ft.
The water level of dam stood at 884.40 ft as against its full level of 885 ft. Likewise, the capacity of dam is now stood at 211.95 tmc as against its full capacity of 215.80 tmc. The SE said the inflow is 1,69, 386 cusecs and outflow is 1,72, 700 cusecs and some more gates are likely to be lifted depending upon the increase in inflow.
