The district police opened 20 counters at armed police quarters at Etcherla near Srikakulam city on Thursday to receive deposit papers and receipts from the depositors. Till October 16these counters will work from 9 am to 5 pm and after October 16 all papers and receipts would be verified.

After receiving papers and receipts from the depositors, police will tally details with lists kept in the CID website. In the wake of confusion regarding addresses of the depositors and other details like Aadhaar number, bank account details, police prepared to cross check at village and ward level to establish the identity of actual depositor.

‘Depositors should not approach the middlemen and they have to pay a visit to their respective police station where the lists of deposit holders are available who uploaded their details on CID website if anyone is yet to do it they have to upload their details immediately on www. protectionofapdepostiors.com, said Superintendent of Police CM Trivikaram Varma.
