Kadapa: Describing YSR Congress party as a ‘sinking boat’, Marketing Minister C Adi Narayana Reddy predicted that Jaganmohan Reddy’s padayatra will not yield any fruitful result to his party.

Instead the YSRCP will disappear in 2019 elections, he said. The Minister took part in the World Egg Day programme here on Friday. Speaking to mediapersons on the occasion, he said even if Jaganmohan Reddy covers 3,000 km in his padayatra in the State, his party will not fare well in the elections as people have lost confidence in YSRCP. He said the Padayatra will only result in leg pain and strain for Jagan.

He said the TDP will find solutions to people’s problems through Janmabhoomi Committees. The Minister pointed out that there has been a good response from people to Intintiki TDP programme. He said there will be no drinking water problem or water scarcity for agriculture operations in Rayalaseema as all reservoirs, rivulets, streams, rivers and check-dams were overflowing.

He pointed out that after 30 years, all the tanks and reservoirs were brimming with water. He said the government was planning to provide water for agriculture operations in Seema with the rise in water level at Srisailam Project. Answering a query on crop loss due to recent rains, the Minister said the assessment would be made after the water level recedes.

TDP Kadapa district president R Srinivasa Reddy demanded that the Opposition parties should tender apology for criticising the Neeru-Chettu programme of the government, pointing out that adequate water could be stored in farm ponds and water pits following the recent rains.
