Srisailam project receives heavy inflow, fifth gate lifted

With the Srisailam project receiving heavy inflows from upper regions and continuous rains lashing the Telugu states, the officials have lifted the fifth gate.

According to the reports, the current outflow of 2, 28,000 cusecs of water is being released.

Krishna river is flowing with intensity while Nagarjuna Sagar is receiving huge inflows from upper regions. There has been a mixed response over the rains from the farmers.

While some farmers expressed happiness over the rains, many others expressed dissatisfaction over untimely rains which has caused huge losses for them as thousands of acres of the crop was destroyed.
