Chain snatcher held
Pendurty police on Saturday arrested the chain snatcher, who was involved 11cases, in the city . Circle Inspector P Suryanarayana said the accused Sirisetty Ravichandra, a native of Rajamahendravaram urban, is a habitual offender and was involved in 11 chain snatching cases registered in four police stations in Visakhapatnam.

He was also involved in seven chain snatchings, four house breakings and one robbery. He was arrested at Krishnarayapuram Junction in Pendurty mandal. The inspector said that the accused was involved in a chain snatching at Sujathanagar on August 31. The complainant Premabakthula Prabhavathi reported that an unknown culprit came from behind and snatched her five tolas chain and disappeared.
Special teams were dispatched for him and he was finally arrested on a tip off, the CI said.
