Tirupati: The Institute of Pregnant Women (IPW) was in news again with former MP Chinta Mohan protesting against the delay in operating services from the new building. It may be recalled that, since the inauguration of the building in 2014, it was handed over to SVIMS to run its Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, which was objected strongly by the former MP on several occasions. The medical college was now shifted to its own buildings and the IPW was handed over to the DM&HO for further orders. Even after two months of its inauguration again by the Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, the present maternity hospital was not shifted to the IPW building. Chinta Mohan demanded the authorities to immediately bring the IPW into use by providing all the infrastructure without further delay. Congress leaders Ninar Sreenivasulu, Prameelamma, Sri Devi, P Prabhakar, Siddaiah, Sobha, Santhi Yadav, Tejovathi and AIDWA leader Lakshmi were present.
