Govt to set up 7 academies

Rajamahendravaram: Deputy Speaker Mandali Budda Prasad said that the government is constituting seven academies relating to culture and traditions soon. Speaking to reporters at the roads and buildings guest house here on Saturday, he said it is the duty of everyone to protect rich culture and tradition which is the need of the hour.

The state government has succeeded in spreading culture and tradition during the Godavari Maha Pushkaralu, Krishna Pushkaralu and other occasions. With the same spirit, the state government is marching ahead in this regard, he said.

The ancient city of Rajamahendravaram is the place which given birth to many great personalities in all fields and the government is striving to develop the historical city in all fronts.

He further stated that there is a need to develop Potti Sriramulu Telugu University and as per 10th schedule of Andhra Pradesh State Bifurcation Act, the State and Central governments are supposed to grant funds to the university.
Steps will be taken to develop Kandukuri Veeresalingam Panthulu's town hall, his house and Damerla Rama Rao Art Gallery in the city.
