Lightning kills two in G Konduru

Vijayawada: Two cattle grazers died due to lightning in Vellatur village of G Konduru mandal in Krishna district on Sunday. The incident occurred when the cattle grazers N Jamalaiah and Y Errabbai were in the farm lands. Suddenly there was heavy downpour accompanied by thunderstorms. Subsequently they were struck by lightning and died on the spot.
Krishna District Collector B Lakshmikantham announced that financial assistance will be provided under Chandranna Bima scheme to the kin of the deceased. The Collector said that Rs 5,000 was handed over to each family as immediate relief.
